Entrance tickets to Machu Picchu are limited and subject to availability by circuit, route, entrance time, and travel date. Circuit 2 is one of the most requested options and may sell out well in advance, especially during high-demand periods. When Circuit 2 is unavailable, Machu Picchu Team will coordinate the best available alternative circuit according to the official ticket inventory at the time of purchase. The exact circuit and entrance time will be confirmed with your reservation. For this reason, we strongly recommend booking the Machu Picchu Express as early as possible.
1. Can I cancel or change my Machu Picchu entrance ticket?
Once a Machu Picchu entrance ticket has been officially purchased and issued with the traveler’s information, it is generally treated as a personal and restricted ticket. Changes, transfers, or refunds are subject to the regulations established by the corresponding authorities.
For this reason, any non-refundable Machu Picchu ticket already purchased will be deducted from any applicable refund if you later change or cancel your travel package.
2. Are domestic or international flights included?
No. Domestic and international flights are not included in the standard Machu Picchu Express package.
However, our team can help you review your flight schedule to ensure that your arrival and departure times are compatible with the confirmed itinerary and transfers.
3. Can you create a customized Peru itinerary?
Yes. Machu Picchu Team can customize the Machu Picchu Express or combine it with additional destinations and experiences according to your available time, interests, hotel preference, and travel style.
Additional options may include the Sacred Valley, Rainbow Mountain, Humantay Lake, Lake Titicaca, the Amazon, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, or other destinations in Peru.
4. Are private tours available?
Yes. Private services can be arranged for travelers who prefer greater flexibility and personalized attention.
The Machu Picchu guided visit is included as a private service in this package, while other activities may operate as shared or private services according to the option selected.
5. How do I book the Machu Picchu Express?
To book, select your preferred departure date through the BOOK NOW option and provide the required passenger information.
Because Machu Picchu tickets and train reservations require accurate traveler details, please enter your full name exactly as shown on your passport, passport number, nationality, date of birth, email, and WhatsApp number.
Once payment is received, our team will verify availability and send your booking confirmation.
6. How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking the Machu Picchu Express at least 2 to 3 months in advance, and earlier during high season or holidays.
Machu Picchu entrance tickets, preferred circuits, train schedules, and selected hotels have limited availability. Booking early provides more options for your preferred itinerary.
7. Which train should I choose: Expedition/Voyager or a panoramic train?
Standard tourist trains such as Expedition or Voyager provide a comfortable journey between the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu Pueblo.
Travelers seeking a more scenic experience may upgrade to a panoramic train service, subject to availability and additional cost. Panoramic trains generally offer larger windows and enhanced onboard services.
8. Are round-trip train tickets included?
Yes. The Machu Picchu Express includes the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and the return train from Aguas Calientes toward Ollantaytambo, Cusco, or the station assigned to your confirmed service.
Exact train schedules and stations will be confirmed according to availability.
9. Can I choose my train seat?
Train seats are normally assigned by the railway company’s reservation system. Specific seat numbers cannot always be selected or guaranteed by Machu Picchu Team.
We will make every reasonable effort to keep travelers under the same reservation seated together whenever the railway operator permits it.
10. What should I do with my large luggage when visiting Machu Picchu?
We recommend leaving your main luggage at your hotel in Cusco and traveling to Aguas Calientes with only a small overnight bag or backpack containing the essentials.
Train companies and Machu Picchu have restrictions regarding large luggage, so traveling light makes the journey considerably easier.
11. What are Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain?
Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain are separate mountain hiking experiences located around the archaeological sanctuary.
Both require a specific entrance ticket and scheduled entry time in addition to the standard Machu Picchu arrangements. Availability is limited, so these options should be requested when booking.
The hiking time, elevation gain, route conditions, and difficulty differ between the two mountains. Our team can help you choose the most appropriate option.
12. What currency is used in Peru?
The official currency of Peru is the Peruvian Sol (PEN).
Cash in soles is useful for restaurants, local markets, tips, small purchases, and places where credit cards may not be accepted.
13. Should I carry US dollars or Peruvian soles?
We recommend carrying Peruvian soles for everyday expenses. US dollars may also be accepted or exchanged in many tourist areas, but they should not be considered a replacement for local currency.

CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS
1. What happens if an activity cannot operate because of weather or circumstances beyond your control?
Weather, strikes, road closures, natural events, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond our control may occasionally require changes to the itinerary.
When this occurs, Machu Picchu Team will evaluate the available alternatives and make reasonable efforts to reorganize the service. Refunds will depend on the services affected and whether payments made to hotels, railway companies, government entities, or other suppliers can be recovered.
2. Can I change the starting date of my Machu Picchu Express package?
Yes, you may request a change of travel date. However, all modifications are subject to availability and supplier conditions.
Once Machu Picchu tickets, train tickets, hotels, or other services have been purchased, some components may not be changeable or refundable. Any additional cost associated with the requested change will be communicated before the modification is confirmed.
3. Can I cancel my Machu Picchu Express package?
Yes. Cancellation requests must be submitted through an official Machu Picchu Team communication channel.
The amount eligible for refund will depend on how far in advance you cancel and which services have already been purchased or confirmed. Non-refundable expenses such as issued Machu Picchu entrance tickets, certain train tickets, hotel reservations, or supplier payments will be deducted from any applicable refund.
